We had a mission conference yesterday so our preparation day got switched today for the time being. But we might be having a temple trip sometime this next month in November, but I'll try and warn you and everyone in advance. I honestly dont know if I will, just thinking about it makes me queasy. I know that trials are for the better, but I really really really want it to be done. Truly. I'm going to be sending a letter to the Mulder's sometime today or tomorrow, cause I am thankful for them. I dont even know anymore honestly.  Yeah I heard about Elder Noorlander's little brother coming to the mission a couple weeks back. Everyone here was honestly shocked, because as far as I know that's never happened. He comes into the mission sometime in December I believe. Well my new companion is Elder Singleton, and as far as I am concerned I hope and pray I only stay with him for this one and only transfer. He was trained by actually my trainer (my 2nd one), Elder Chris...

Sorry this email is going to be pretty short. The libarary for the stake center is closed so I am typing on my phone, and its really tedious so just bear with me here. This last week was insane. I got sick for 3 days and then when I got feeling better my companion had a migraine so we stayed in the apartment for 4 days straight... Then throughout the week a lot of random shenanigans happened that just threw us off. I honestly cannot describe what happened. But besides from that I did get to meet with Brother Donovan who is the counselor. The meeting went really well, he committed me to writing every night one moment I saw the Lord's Hand in the day. I'll be meeting with him next week. The packages havent come in yet, they will probably be here tomorrow. But I did get that Fall Package with all those goods you left for me and my companion. Sadly we were sick so its just sitting there. Honestly really nothing happened this week besides the fact I pondered a lot and studie...

To answer all those questions. I got a priesthood blessing I believe two Fridays ago from my zone leaders, there is a lot of power that comes from those blessings. As for my Patriarchal Blessing, I accidentally left it down the valley and it took a couple of weeks to come up to the desert. I need to study it more sometime probably. To answer the question concerning I feel like I am wasting time. After serving in California, we talk to a lot of people, and most cases we dont even get a conversation with some people, most the times its just "No!" and a lot of hateful words. I realized I was putting more on myself in terms of expectations and other things, to sum it up, its hard out here. Tomorrow is District Council so if there is any mail it should be there, so I'll have to let you know next week if it made it. Yes I have been eating healthy, lots of vegetables, meats, everything needed on that food pyramid. The baptism on Saturday went really well. Elida had a lot of her ...

Dear Elder Brimhall! It's been an emotional few days! Friday night your mission president called dad to let him know that he was worried about you. He shared how much you've been struggling. I'm so sorry! I can't pretend that I know what it's like to be a missionary, but every single person that I've talked to that has either served a mission...or is a parent of a missionary...has shared how hard it is and how much they struggled at times. And often struggled for much of their mission. We all have our agency though. And just as I can do my best and give my all as a mom, I don't get to make my childrens choices. And if my children make a wrong choice, it doesn't mean I'm not a good mom or that I'm not doing the right thing. It just means they have their own agency and get to chose for themselves. Just like if people you teach decide not to get baptized, it's their choice. They have their own agency. Even though you know how much it would bl...

Yeah General Conference was absolutely outstanding. We had breakfast and watched General Conference with a member family and they invited their neighbors from across the street. The funny thing was we talked about what happens after we die, the struggles we go through and others around us go through, and it was all talked about during General Conference. The wife was super excited about everything, so hopefully we'll have the opportunity to teach and share the gospel with the both of them soon. The two hour block is going to be kind of weird, but super nice. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes. Then all those temples, some of them were really close to China, so who knows, it could be opening up sometime in the near future.  Elida is doing really well. She passed her baptismal interview and is really excited for it coming up! She invited a ton of her family and said there'll probably be about 14 of them, so I'm hoping and praying a lot of members come to suppo...

To answer your question. The only lesson we taught all this week was the person we have on date, her name is Elida. She's been doing absolutely stellar, she's super excited for her baptism and it's her birthday on that day as well. She's invited her family and friends and she's been reading her scriptures and praying more and more. Her and her husband are so funny, they are both pretty young and just fun to talk to. Funny thing was we had Stake Conference yesterday at 10:00 and we got a text from her asking why nobody was at the church building at 1:00. I just looked at it and smacked my head, I thought they knew about stake conference and it all got goofed up. Her baptismal interview is this Wednesday and after hers I'll be giving another one for somebody in my district they are teaching. Man, Dad's work is just getting crazy by the sound of it. Sounds like a ton of fun though, I'll be rooting for him over here. Funny that Savannah's dance keep...

Did You Think to Pray? I actually took pictures this week. And for some odd reason this computer is denying me the right to access those photos... Hold back the pitchforks for now, I'll fix the problem sometime soon. But besides from that one. The title comes from a praying mantis I saw while knocking on doors. I went to go ring a doorbell and there is this giant praying mantis guarding the bell. I ended up not wanting to fight the thing and knocked on the door. Something our mission does every transfer (which is a six week period of time kept by missionaries), we have this thing called a zone conference. And all the missionaries here in the desert got together. Which is always a fun experience being out for little over 13 months now seeing people I've grown to meet and love during my time here and catching up with them. But the whole reason we got together was to learn and grow in our service out here. And something that stuck out to me was learning to set goals, but mo...
