The first week with Elder Johnson went really well! We've served around each other in Ontario and in Apple Valley so being companions makes it a little more fun. He's from North Carolina and he'll hit his year mark this week. Mary's baptism went really good actually! She was nervous at the beginning and she looked so much better. Her son who was baptized 2 years ago bore his testimony during the baptism service and it went really well. She already feels like she has been a part of the ward and now that she has been baptized and confirmed she feels even closer. Darla has been sick ever since she came to church so hopefully we can meet again with her soon. Yeah I got an email from Bryson so hallelujah!

Throughout the week it got pretty stormy over here in Hesperia. We've been getting good amounts of rain and its been getting pretty chilly along with it. I think our little weather app told us at one point it felt like 34 degrees outside. When you got a drizzle of rain, wind, and some winter cold, you better believe it'll make you cold. It was cool though because we found some small acts of service even when it was raining. We met this Chinese man named Ramen? (I must have heard wrong) but he recently moved in and knew little English so we helped him with some boxes before it started raining a little harder. He was super grateful and fun to talk to.

That was fun to hear you had the chance to go to the temple and go with Dad. We only get to go every now and then, but since Mary got baptized she can get a limited use recommend and we can go with her if we get permission from the Assistants (since the Redlands temple is currently outside the mission). If that happens I'm for sure getting some photos of that as well. Besides from everything that happened this week out here, it was quite the blur. We've been going out knocking doors more on the pure dirt roads and turns out, lots of old people out there. Then you knock the more developed neighborhoods and its families and a more diverse variety. Kind of interesting.

Sorry that the email is a bit shorter than most. Some things came up and I'm trying to do better about "wasting" time on Facebook. Thankfully its usually just on Mondays but it does kind of take me home for a bit so I need to make sure I stay obedient to everything. Trying, thats what matters most. Elder Johnson has been helping me exercise better so it'll be fun!

LOVE YOU MOMMA!! KEEP BEING AMAZING!!

Hi Momma!

Yeah I am in a new area, and in a new apartment which is a lot nicer than the older one I stayed in, just has a lot more room (I forgot to take pictures which I promise to do that). It's just me and Elder de La Torre in this apartment. From what I can tell you Elder de La Torre is from Las Vegas, Nevada which is super close to our mission and it turns out he is actually a "trial missionary" and he might be staying in this mission or be called to somewhere else. His mom is a member and his father is currently investigating in the church so it's pretty cool. He loves music and played in a mariachi band for a little while and did orchestra so he is pretty awesome, and he speaks fluent spanish which helps when we run into a lot of spanish speaking people here in Ontario.  Yeah it is kind of crazy how fast time has flown by honestly, I feel like I've been here for awhile even though I haven't and even though the end is far away it seems to be coming up kind of qu...

A New Perspective Hence the title, I got new glasses since my old perscriptions were causing a bit of strain, but we are feeling better now and kicking into overdrive! Don't worry there will be a photo at the very end with the new glasses, don't get too excited yet you still have to drag through this email. But lets move on shall we. This past week... I'll be completely honest it has been a struggle here. Not going to lie, my hardest area yet since being in the mission field. My companion and I go straight to the mission office to make sure everything in the mission moves forward and everyone's jobs are easier... Then we go into our teaching area and try and find people. In my entire time here, its been 4 months now we have found only a couple people that would let us teach them. And they all dont want to meet anymore. Its been hard, but thats where faith comes in I guess. It tests you, your work ethic, your testimony, and just the faith to find one person who ...

Hello Mom and Dad!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing really well! What is actually funny is since I was still a little sick I called the mission nurse and she asked me who she just saw, and mentioned Mom dropping by with Sister Kerby's mom dropping off gifts so that caught me off guard. But that is super awesome that you took the time and love to give gifts to everyone! Time can fly by pretty quickly sometimes and other days it just seems to drag on for awhile but all together I've been out for more than 4 months now... Time really has just flew. And YES we do get to talk on Christmas using Skype, I recently got an email from my Mission President with information on rules and regulations. We get about 30-40 minutes at the maximum and I believe we'll be able to text your number with the member's phone or call ahead as we prepare to Skype (the Hannett Family offered their home for Skyping for us). But for everything pertaining to that on Christmas Day even though its supposed to be our Prepara...
