August 19 2017: Survived a Week and Half (HAHA)

So Missionary life is pretty interesting here in the MTC and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Waking up earlier at like 6:20AM and going to bed around 10:30PM, sometimes longer if we are having some deep or entertaining conversations together at night. Also Mom, THANK YOU for everything you have taught me and pushed me to do, and that Letter, I look at it every now and then because its a great pick me up if I ever get doubtful at what I'm trying to do here at the MTC. So I know I'll do my absolute best for the people of Rancho Cucamonga (when I do get there) which is like coming up pretty quickly now that I think about it. Time has reaaaaaally flown by when you are in tune with the spirit and hard at work (while also enjoying some laughs together as a Zone/District).

We got the start doing something called TRC (Training Research Center) which is we teach investigators about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and lessons pertaining what we can share with them. But I noticed that its a LOT harder than it looks (mostly because its a new thing I'm learning) but we get 2 Investigators which we get to teach for 30 mins during 4 Days of the week, its pretty crazy not gonna lie. I'm glad to be able to participate in this though because  feel like I get an understanding of what it'll be like in the field, but I get to really LOVE them. I get to know things about them, their family, their life, and just be able to be there for them in a way. I get to share them the love of Christ and teach them the doctrines and gospel and I get to see it in their eyes and smiles. Not only that but the Spirit I feel when I bear my Testimony or hearing my Companions is just like, sends chills done my arms and spine, its amazing.

I got all the Packages and Letters from you guys and I found it pretty funny, you guys brought me more food but I'm getting so well fed (while also eating healthy, well mostly). And I'll try and write those thank you letters and other things for you guys when I get the chance of course, but today is P-Day so I'm bound to have some time.

Me and my Companion, Elder Furse (James Steheli Furse) have been developing a great relationship and personally I've come to love him more. He is 22 but not only that, his "Missionary Conversion Story" is crazy amazing and I'll have to tell you sometime but I'm limited time on Emails sooooo yeah.

I'll try and Email more effectively and efficiently as time passes on, but I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

From your Son (duh),
Jarom Brimhall err- Elder Brimhall

PS: Yes I am taking pictures so I'll send those sometime soooonish, just gotta make sure I send as many emails as possible in my limited time.

Question Time: 1. My week was definitely interesting, I'll tell you about it in a bit later on in this email. 2. I have no idea yet, I'll be in the office tomorrow so I'll look for it and see if it came in the mail. We don't open those suckers until later and its going to be quite a hassle trying to figure these things out before we roll out ALL the smartphones to all the missionaries but I am looking forward to it and seeing the success that can be found. And yes I will be becoming a Facebook missionary, whoopdy doo for you! 3. Ideas for him? Well I was thinking of trying to get him something but I keep running out of time and forgetting but don't tell him that. I LOVE HIM, just shipping is really expensive... But maybe something that I thought of is giving him a book series called Mystborn or another series by Brandon Sanderson, I heard his books are really awesome and I'll probably read them when I get back. I honestly don't know, you know better th...

Hi Momma!

Yeah I am in a new area, and in a new apartment which is a lot nicer than the older one I stayed in, just has a lot more room (I forgot to take pictures which I promise to do that). It's just me and Elder de La Torre in this apartment. From what I can tell you Elder de La Torre is from Las Vegas, Nevada which is super close to our mission and it turns out he is actually a "trial missionary" and he might be staying in this mission or be called to somewhere else. His mom is a member and his father is currently investigating in the church so it's pretty cool. He loves music and played in a mariachi band for a little while and did orchestra so he is pretty awesome, and he speaks fluent spanish which helps when we run into a lot of spanish speaking people here in Ontario.  Yeah it is kind of crazy how fast time has flown by honestly, I feel like I've been here for awhile even though I haven't and even though the end is far away it seems to be coming up kind of qu...

Did You Think to Pray? I actually took pictures this week. And for some odd reason this computer is denying me the right to access those photos... Hold back the pitchforks for now, I'll fix the problem sometime soon. But besides from that one. The title comes from a praying mantis I saw while knocking on doors. I went to go ring a doorbell and there is this giant praying mantis guarding the bell. I ended up not wanting to fight the thing and knocked on the door. Something our mission does every transfer (which is a six week period of time kept by missionaries), we have this thing called a zone conference. And all the missionaries here in the desert got together. Which is always a fun experience being out for little over 13 months now seeing people I've grown to meet and love during my time here and catching up with them. But the whole reason we got together was to learn and grow in our service out here. And something that stuck out to me was learning to set goals, but mo...
